Chappell Roan to be honoured at Resonator Awards

Chappell Roan is set to be recognised during Grammy Week with the Harmonizer Award at the upcoming Resonator Awards. The accolade is presented to a creator who uses music as a force for social change and will be awarded by Nancy Wilson of Heart. Music manager Roger Davies will also be honoured on the night, receiving the Transformer Award for his longstanding work championing artists and advocating positive change within the industry.

Both recipients will join a list of previously announced honourees, including Chaka Khan, Haim, St. Vincent and Amy Allen. The second annual ceremony will be hosted by Fred Armisen and is organised by We Are Moving the Needle, a non-profit founded by Grammy Award-winning engineer Emily Lazar.

Emily Lazar described the event as a significant moment for the music industry, highlighting the importance of recognising producers, engineers and artists for their creative impact rather than their gender. She emphasised that increased visibility and representation behind the scenes can help inspire future generations to challenge industry norms and create lasting change.

The ceremony will feature performances from artists such as Flo, Greg Kurstin, Jim James, Lucius, Sia, Thundercat and Victoria Canal, alongside a DJ set by U.S. Girls and a tribute to Chaka Khan. In the lead-up to the awards, We Are Moving the Needle will also host a curated auction of music memorabilia, with proceeds supporting scholarships aimed at expanding opportunities for women in music.
