The 43-year-old actor, who worked with O’Hara on his TV comedy The Studio, described the Home Alone star as the inspiration behind his decision to pursue a career in film. He praised her for being “hysterical, kind, intuitive and generous,” adding that working with her was a “true honour” and that her presence motivated him to improve the show.

Filmmaker Judd Apatow also expressed his admiration, describing O’Hara as “brilliant and kind” and “riotously funny for fifty years.” He highlighted her as a “really special person” whose contribution to comedy will be remembered.

Meanwhile, Ben Stiller used the micro-blogging platform X to describe O’Hara as a “true great,” recalling her generational impact on comedy since her time on SCTV. He offered support to her husband, Bo Welch, and the wider family, emphasising the loss of her “incredible presence” in the industry.
