The actress, who previously struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, described her relapse as part of a broader, ongoing recovery process and emphasised the importance of honesty and support.

In her posts, Lyonne highlighted that recovery is lifelong and encouraged others facing similar challenges to remember they are not alone. She expressed gratitude for the support around her and referenced her upcoming film Bambo, suggesting personal motivation to continue addressing her health openly and constructively.
Lyonne entered treatment in 2006 following a period marked by substance abuse, legal issues and serious health problems. After that time, she rebuilt her career, gaining widespread recognition for roles in Orange Is the New Black, Russian Doll and more recently Poker Face, along with multiple industry award nominations and wins.
