Tesco installs ANPR cameras and new signage at Fforestfach car park

Date:

Tesco has introduced ANPR cameras and new signs at its Fforestfach Retail Park car park in Swansea, warning customers of strict parking rules. The signage states a maximum stay of four hours between 6am and 10pm, reducing to one hour between 10pm and midnight, and just 30 minutes from midnight to 6am. A ‘no return’ rule applies within one hour. Disabled blue badge holders are advised to register their vehicles at the store’s customer service desk to be exempt from time restrictions.

The signs explain that parking charge notices of £70 may be issued in specific circumstances. These include exceeding the maximum stay, parking in a disabled bay without a valid badge, non-customer parking, using a parent and child bay without accompanying children, parking outside marked bays, returning within one hour, and occupying an electric vehicle bay without charging.

The car park is managed by Horizon Parking Limited, a member of the British Parking Association, which states it “strictly adheres to the BPA’s code of practice for parking on private land and unregulated car parks.” Notices on-site also inform drivers that vehicle keeper details may be requested from the DVLA if necessary to recover unpaid charges.

Discounts are available for parking charge notices paid within 14 days. Additional fees may be applied if further action is required after 28 days in relation to unpaid notices, ensuring enforcement is in line with private parking regulations in the UK.
