Myleene Klass reflects on marriage plans and long-standing career

Date:

Myleene Klass has said she would like her future wedding to be “with a difference”, as she continues a long engagement to her partner, Simon Motson. The broadcaster, who has been engaged since 2020, suggested that frequent opportunities to dress up for work may be one reason the couple have not rushed to set a date.

Speaking in an interview, Klass acknowledged the unusually long engagement and said a ceremony would need to feel distinctive. She indicated that a wedding this year remains a possibility, but noted that no firm plans have been made and that the decision has been approached without urgency.

The comments come as Klass marks 20 years as a presenter on Classic FM. She has previously reflected that she expected her public profile to be short-lived after rising to fame with Hear’Say on ITV’s Popstars in 2001, but instead has built a varied career across music, broadcasting and presenting.

Last year, Klass was awarded an MBE by King Charles for services to women’s health, miscarriage awareness and charity. During the investiture, she highlighted the need for earlier medical intervention following pregnancy loss, drawing attention to current NHS guidelines and advocating for changes to improve support for women.
