Jack Whitehall has disclosed that one of his proposed comedy sketches for Harry Styles was rejected by the singer’s team ahead of this year’s BRIT Awards. The comedian is set to host the ceremony for the sixth time, while Styles is due to return to live performance with the debut of his new single Aperture.

Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Whitehall explained that several ideas were submitted for approval, with one receiving what he described as a firm refusal. The rejected concept referenced Styles’ absence from the public eye in recent years and involved an exaggerated storyline that was ultimately deemed unsuitable.
The awards ceremony will take place at Co-op Live in Manchester, where viewers will see whether Styles appears in any approved sketches during the broadcast. The event is expected to mark a significant moment in the singer’s return to the stage.

Whitehall also recalled a previous hosting experience during an interview on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show, in which actor Jared Leto allegedly attempted to alter his scripted introduction mid-show. Alongside Styles, performers confirmed for the ceremony include Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson, Rosalía, Wolf Alice and others.
