Peter Andre has revealed that he encouraged his son Junior not to rush into a full-time music career, despite early chart success. Junior was 17 when he released his debut single Slide in 2022, which reached number one on the UK iTunes chart. Andre said he was proud of the achievement but felt it was important for his son to enjoy being a teenager before fully committing to the industry.

Speaking about Junior, now 20, Andre said the young artist has been working on new material in recent years and has taken time to develop his sound. He explained that his advice focused on balance, emphasising life experience alongside ambition. Andre noted that Junior has been able to progress at his own pace and only move forward when he feels ready.

Andre also reflected on his own rise to fame in the 1990s, saying he wanted to shield his son from the pressures he experienced at a young age. He said family support played a key role in allowing Junior to grow personally while remaining creative. Andre added that his son is happy in his personal life and has benefited from not being rushed.

However, he stressed that he prefers to let his children pursue their own paths, offering guidance without pressure.
