Anne Hathaway and Elizabeth Hurley were among the prominent figures who attended the funeral of fashion designer Valentino Garavani on Friday. The service took place at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and Martyrs in Rome, following the designer’s death at his Roman residence earlier this week, aged 93.

Hathaway arrived with her husband, Adam Shulman, while Hurley was accompanied by her son, Damian. Hathaway’s association with Valentino began in 2005, when he appeared in a cameo role in The Devil Wears Prada. She later became one of his most recognisable muses, frequently wearing his designs at major public events.
Their professional relationship developed into a close personal bond, with Hathaway often appearing alongside Valentino on red carpets. In 2012, the designer offered to create her wedding dress when she married Shulman, further cementing their long-standing connection.
